Jordan and I shared the same calling, in our hearts, we wanted to simplify. To move away from the hustle and bustle of the rat race and to seek out the solitude of the mountains.
In 2017, we took the first step and purchased a homestead on a dead end dirt road in Bethel, Maine. Not long after, we started our family farm, Picnic Hill Farm!
Running a small family farm means we get to spend more time together, we also get to spend more time enjoying all Mother Nature has to offer. We work with our hands, and hope to someday be fully self sufficient. Not only do we raise and process our own food, we also sell our farm products to our local community! All poultry is processed here on our Farm. Our pork products are butchered / smoked at East Conway Butcher.

Tyler caught a pig at the Waterford, ME country fair our first year here in Maine! That pig, later named Bacon, was the first hog we added to our homestead.. As we started to learn more and more about pigs, we decided to raise Berkshire Hogs as they are a hearty Heritage Breed known for their delicious meat, good mothering skills and excellent disposition.
Building our first greenhouse!!
Check out the short video we created on what has been our biggest accomplishment yet this spring - building a greenhouse on our family farm!! This greenhouse will extend our growing season and in turn increase what we can grow!
